Hypnotherapy

hypnotherapy

Do you want to lose weight, lead a healthier lifestyle, manage your alcohol consumption or quit smoking?

Hypnotherapy can be used for all kinds of issues – from breaking bad habits and creating positive new ones to countering fears and phobias, or boosting confidence. At work, hypnotherapy can improve your interview or negotiating skills, overcome a fear of public speaking, or help you manage stress levels.

Hypnotherapy is entirely safe, and you, the client, are always in control.

What Hypnotherapy Isn't

There are many myths and misunderstandings about hypnosis and hypnotherapy, most of which have been reinforced by TV and stage showmen, who create the impression of having total control over their powerless victims, humiliating them for public entertainment. These are performances, hyped up and deliberately provocative, and have nothing to do with the gentle, positive and entirely safe way of affecting permanent change that is hypnotherapy.

What to Expect During Hypnotherapy

All hypnosis is self-hypnosis. I cannot make you do anything you don’t want to, or that you don’t feel comfortable doing. You are hypnotising yourself, and I am merely facilitating.

Think of hypnotherapy as a deep and relaxing meditation during which positive suggestions are relayed straight to your unconscious mind, to manifest in your waking life in a natural and organic way.

The process is broken into four parts:

Induction

Getting you in a relaxed state, just like meditation, and calming your monkey mind down with imagery such as walking through a lovely garden to an idyllic beach at sunset

Deepening

Getting you more deeply relaxed, so that your judgemental conscious mind loses interest and drifts off, allowing the therapeutic intervention to filter directly to your unconscious

Therapeutic Intervention

Positive messages about your required subject are relayed straight to your unconscious mind

Release

Usually in the form of a countdown, bringing you back to a normal state, feeling refreshed and enthused
